Shelter Operation

Cots are available overnight when the Cold Weather Shelter is in operation.

  • Year-round: Open as a warmup center 7:30 am to 10 am, with breakfast provided 8:30 to 9:00 am. A shower and washer/dryer are also available.
  • Winter Operation, late October through mid-March: When the overnight temperature forecast is below 40 degrees, in addition to the morning warmup center, the American Legion Hall opens again at 5 pm. Dinner is served at 6:30 pm, and cots and blankets are available for up to 30 adults overnight (all genders welcome, regardless of veteran status). Breakfast is served at 8:30 am, and the shelter closes for the day at 10 am.
  • Open 24 hours when King County declares a Cold Weather Emergency.
Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa are available at the Warm Up Center.
