How to Volunteer

The Westside Neighbors Network Shelter seeks compassionate volunteers both on- and offsite.

Onsite, volunteers are needed for tasks such as

The pantry at the shelter
The shelter’s pantry contains donated goods for making breakfast and dinner.
  • preparing and serving breakfast
  • preparing and serving dinner
  • doing client/facility laundry (machines onsite)
  • sorting clothing donations
  • general cleaning of the facility
  • helping clients with nighttime setup

Offsite, volunteers can help by

  • preparing a meal and dropping it off
  • grocery shopping
  • other errands as needed

Volunteers can sign up for specific tasks on our online volunteer schedule. Before volunteers are able to access and add themselves to the volunteer schedule, a brief conversation and orientation at the facility with Keith Hughes is required. Also, all onsite volunteers must be age 18 or older, unless accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian for the entire time they are onsite. All clients and visitors are required to follow our Code of Conduct.

The first step toward volunteering with Westside Neighbors Network is filling out this brief form. It will tell us a little more about you, and confirm your contact information. After you submit the form, a shelter volunteer will contact you to set up a meeting and onsite orientation with Keith Hughes.
